ACT Networks to Acquire DynaStar Products
ACT Networks in Camarillo has entered into an agreement to acquire the DynaStar family of products from Dynatech Communications.
The transaction, valued at approximately $7.2 million in cash, will be treated as an asset purchase.
The DynaStar line is a family of products that allow the user to select a data service and connect to various computers in a network. Customers for DynaStar products include domestic and international long-distance carriers and regional Bell operating companies.
Closing of the acquisition is subject to the fulfillment of several conditions.
In connection with the acquisition, ACT intends to hire about 50 Dynatech Communications employees and assume lease responsibility for its Woodbridge, Va., facility. That group, made up primarily of engineering, marketing and technical support staff, will become ACT’s second strategic product unit.
Dynatech President Alex Saunders will be appointed a vice president of ACT.
ACT Networks develops and manufactures wide-area-network access products.
