Nazi Gold

In response to “Proving Gold to Be a Base Metal,” Commentary, Feb. 13, by Melvin Jules Bukiet:
I, too, am a grandchild of Auschwitz, but I cannot agree with burying the gold there. It will not “rot in hell”; someday, someone will dig it up and use it. I prefer that it be used for the good of the living, just as many people donate their body parts to help the living.
The gold worn today by us all was mined and worn by the slaves and the tortured and murdered of yesteryear, from all over the globe! Let it remain a store of value, and let those who misuse it come to grief as they have throughout history!
