Barry Can Play Some at Point

When the Clippers acquired guard Brent Barry last season, Coach Bill Fitch envisioned Barry being converted into a point guard.
The Clippers finally got around to using Barry at the point in Tuesday night’s 18-point victory over the Dallas Mavericks at the Sports Arena.
Barry made two of five shots and had eight points, four rebounds, two assists and four turnovers in 15 minutes.
“I thought Brent did a good job after he got a little mustard off the hot dog,” Fitch said.

Although the Clippers (21-27) are holding the final playoff position in the West and are almost three weeks ahead of last season’s pace when they didn’t register their 21st victory until March 8, Fitch isn’t satisfied.
“I’d like to be one game ahead of the Bulls, but it’s not going to happen this year,” Fitch quipped. “Like I said before, we’ve got some healthy teams chasing us and nothing is for sure at that eighth spot.”
