InSight Health Services Corp.: The Newport Beach provider of diagnostic imaging services posted net income of $262,000, or 5 cents a share, for the second fiscal quarter, compared with a net loss of $3.3 million, or $2.41 a share, a year ago. Revenue for the three months ended Dec. 31 increased 80% to $23 million from $12.8 million.
InSight was formed from the merger of American Health Services Corp. and Maxum Health Corp. on June 27. Due to purchase accounting rules, results are compared to those of the “acquiring company,” Maxum Health Corp., for the 1995 periods.
Net income for the first half totaled $368,000, or 7 cents a share, contrasted with a net loss of $3.3 million, or $2.46 a share, for the same period a year earlier. Revenue advanced 81% to $45.1 million from $24.9 million.
