The Master’s Wins, 115-39, on Night of Falling Records

Mike Penberthy broke the school’s career scoring record and Coach Bill Oates reached 700 victories in The Master’s 115-39 nonconference victory over Life Bible College on Thursday night at Master’s.
Penberthy’s 21 points gave him 2,384 with the Mustangs (15-8), surpassing Carl Turner’s 2,378 points from 1977-1980. Oates has a 700-277 record in 34 years of coaching.
Jerome Joseph led the Mustangs in scoring with 24 pointsand Paul Greer led Life Bible (3-25) with nine points.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
CS Northridge 56, Eastern Washington 49--Tammie Mills had 15 points and a career-high nine assists to help the Matadors (4-18, 2-9) end a nine-game losing streak in the Big Sky Conference game at Northridge.
Sarah Bell, Tannea Nelson and Lisa Vaillancourt each scored eight points for the Matadors.
BASEBALL
Ventura 13, Compton 2--Dustin Tubb pitched a complete game and the Pirates had 16 hits in a nonconference game at Compton.
Tubb (3-0) struck out six and gave up six hits.
Jeremy Pierce had three hits, including a double and two runs batted in for Ventura (5-2).
