Clipper update--The Clippers had won four straight and six of their last seven before losing, 105-98, Thursday night at Sacramento. The Clippers, who’ve won five of their last six against the Suns, won the first meeting this season, 122-121, in overtime on Dec. 16 at Anaheim after Brent Barry made a three-point shot at the end of regulation.
Sun update--They have won three of their last four games, including a 31-point win over the Boston Celtics Wednesday night. Guard Kevin Johnson had a first-half triple double against the Celtics, getting 14 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds. He finished with 22 points and season highs of 17 assists and 11 rebounds. Forward Cedric Ceballos, reacquired from the Lakers on Jan. 10, has averaged 18.2 points in 15 games with the Suns. Guards Jason Kidd (collarbone) and Rex Chapman (right index finger) are on the injured list.
