The scramble for most playoff spots concludes Friday with the end of the regular season. Numerous teams are on the bubble and battling for second- and third-place slots in their respective leagues. Saturday, top-ranked Mater Dei (24-2, 9-0) hosts seventh-ranked Capistrano Valley (18-7, 6-3) at 3:30 p.m. at the Bren Center. Southern Section playoff pairings will be released Sunday.
