Another Honor for Former Mayor Scott
The celebration of former Mayor George B. Scott’s achievements in office don’t seem to stop at the city limits.
Buena Park’s City Council recently honored the venerable politician for his council service from 1969 to 1978 and from 1984 to 1996. He had already been the guest of honor at several ceremonies in Fountain Valley.
A resolution adopted by the Buena Park council praised Scott for “distinguished service and outstanding leadership” working with youth, providing leadership countywide and addressing the needs of people with physical disabilities.
Scott, known for working with the disabled and giving the city its first public fountain, retired in December as one of the longest-serving elected officials in Orange County.
Supporters are planning one more party: Feb. 24 in Anaheim.
