Proposal May Affect Mobile Home Fees
Mobile-home park tenants in unincorporated areas of Ventura County would have more say over rental fees under a new ordinance being considered by the Board of Supervisors.
The ordinance would prohibit park owners from reducing housing services without corresponding reductions in rent to their tenants, officials said.
It would also require park owners to get approval from a majority of tenants before any capital improvements are made that would result in rent increases.
Officials said the proposed ordinance was prompted by complaints from mobile-home park tenants who have seen their services decrease, while their rents continue to rise.
The Board of Supervisors will consider the measure at its Tuesday meeting.
