Doo-Wop Society to Host Tribute to Belvin
The late rhythm & blues singer Jesse Belvin will be honored at a tribute concert on Feb. 8 sponsored by the Doo-Wop Society of Southern California. The performers include such members of the Los Angeles ‘50s R&B; community as Marvin & Johnny, Big Jay McNeely, Lee Maye, Jewel Akens, the Calvanes and the Storytellers.
The 8 p.m. show will be held at the Petroleum Club, 3636 Linden Ave., Long Beach.
