AST Gives Computers to Fire Authority
The Orange County Fire Authority received $16,000 worth of computer equipment from Irvine-based AST Research Inc.
The four laptop computers will be used primarily in the agency’s fire safety education programs, which are presented to fifth-graders across the county. The computers will also be used to help develop drowning prevention and disaster preparedness materials, Capt. Scott Brown said.
“This is providing us with the latest technology that we can use in the programs that we present to the public,†Brown said.
The AST donation comes through one of several corporate “partnerships†that the fire authority has developed in the past few years. Allstate Insurance donated $10,000 that is being used to produce fire safety brochures, Brown said.
