For fans of chairs with flair, the DUO collection by GoodmanCharlton will draw cheers.

The 50-piece upholstered line, designed by Jeffrey Goodman and Steven Charlton, features swooping curves and vibrant colors.

The Electra chair (about $2,100) is modern in styling but scores points with retro lovers because of its metal legs and flaring arms. The Scuba (about $950) has a sleek, high-tech look, yet it is warmed by its wood legs. And the Bongo stool (about $525) will keep the beat going around the bar long after the game is over.

Before designing the DUO collection, Goodman and Charlton collaborated on props for commercials and ads, in addition to designing and making furniture and props for FAO Schwarz’s flagship store in New York, Cirque du Soleil and Billboard Live, among others.

In 1988, they opened their business in Los Angeles and now manufacture their pieces in Gardena.

For fans of reclining comfort, La-Z-Boy keeps the spirit with its Classics collection.

The Barrington recliner (starts at $799) and ottoman (about $350) stay true to club style, with high back and overstuffed arms. In addition to being a great spot to plop for football’s ultimate battle, the Barrington recliner would hold its own in a den or library.

The Kimberly reclining lounger (starts at $529), with its high legs and wingback, also would look right at home in many formal living rooms.
