Morton to Close Garden Grove Polymer Plant
GARDEN GROVE — Morton International said it is pulling out of the aerospace polymer business and will close its 15-employee Morton Aerospace Polymer System manufacturing plant in Garden Grove. The Chicago specialty chemicals company has annual sales of more than $3.5 billion and the aerospace polymer division brought in only $1.7 million in its fiscal 1996.
Morton said it will attempt to find jobs for some of the workers at other Morton plants. The company has an electronics facility in Tustin and several other operations in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties.
