Ingram Micro Creates Purchasing Post
* Victoria Cotten has been appointed to the newly created position of senior vice president of purchasing for Ingram Micro Inc., a Santa Ana wholesale distributor of technology products and services. She will oversee Ingram Micro’s U.S. purchasing department and be responsible for vendor relations. Cotten most recently served as vice president of purchasing. In addition, Janet Clancy has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president of marketing communications. She joined Ingram Micro in 1995 as senior director, marketing communications. Before that, she was director of marketing for the Arden Group Inc.
* Angela Bruce-Raeburn has joined Pleion Corp. as director of government contract relations. She will serve as the Santa Ana business furniture company’s principal liaison with state and federal governmental agencies. Bruce-Raeburn was previously a legislative aide to Wisconsin State Rep. G. Spencer Coggs.
* Ralph Gabai has been named president and chief executive of MicroNet Technology in Irvine. He succeeds Morris Taradalsky, MicroNet’s president and CEO since May 1994, who resigned. Gabai previously held positions at Pertec Computer Corp. and Micro Peripherals Inc.
* Udi Toledano has been appointed chairman of Alyn Corp., an Irvine manufacturer of consumer and industrial products. Toledano has been a board member since May 1996. Toledano is president of Andromeda Enterprises Inc.
* Scott Bower has joined AST Research Inc. in Irvine as senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Americas region, which includes the United States, Canada and Latin America. Bower was formerly vice president of sales and marketing at Samsung Electronics America. Before that, he spent more than 23 years at IBM where he served in various sales and marketing positions.
* Jamie Kalama has been named vice president of strategic development for Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills. She was formerly vice president of business development at Riverside Community Hospital.
* Robert Bruning has been named chief financial officer of Oakley Inc., an Irvine designer and manufacturer of eyewear. He succeeds Link Newcomb, who was appointed to the newly created position of chief operating officer. In addition, Newcomb has been appointed to the board of directors, increasing the number to six. Bruning was previously chief financial officer at Cobra Golf and spent seven years at Ernst & Young. Newcomb joined Oakley in June 1994 as vice president of international sales. He became executive vice president in April 1995 and chief financial officer in July of that year.
* Greg Fischbein has been appointed to the newly created position of artist relations manager for Vans Inc., an Orange-based footwear and apparel maker. Fischbein has been with Vans two years, previously working in the product development division and helping with artist relations efforts. In his new position, he will be responsible for product placement in the entertainment industry, focusing on music.
