S. Lee Kling was appointed to Electro Rent Corp.’s board of directors, expanding the board’s membership to eight. Kling is chairman of Missouri-based merchant-banking firm Kling Rechter & Co.

Electro Rent is a Van Nuys renter of computer equipment.

* Cindy Martinez has been elected 1997 chairwoman for the Professionals in Human Resource Assn., District 10, Ventura County.

PIHRA is a professional personnel association with 3,000 members in California, more than 140 of them in Ventura County.

Martinez, a Ventura resident, is human resources manager at Waterway Plastics in Oxnard.

* Attorney Marc L. Charney of Oxnard has been reelected managing partner of Nordman, Cormany, Hair & Compton, Ventura County’s largest civil law firm.

Also elected to the firm’s management committee were partners Scott B. Samsky and Anthony H. Trembley, both of Camarillo.

Charney, a senior partner and member of the Oxnard-based law firm since 1967, specializes in real estate and land-use law, as well as municipal and governmental administrative law.

* Mohammed A. Hasan of the Ventura engineering firm, Hasan Consultants, will speak in April at “No Dig ‘97,� a conference in Seattle, Wash., sponsored by the North American Society for Trenchless Technology.

His paper, “Earthquake Damaged Sewer System Saved by Using Trenchless Technology,� discusses procedures used in the San Fernando Valley after the 1994 Northridge earthquake.

Hasan is a civil engineer and a registered environmental assessor.
