Notes on your surroundings:

Winter Walk--Which plants are pollinated by bats? Why keep your distance from female ginkgoes? Find out on a guided tour of the Fullerton Arboretum Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Nature Guides, a support group of the Friends of the Fullerton Arboretum, will show visitors through several of the collections on the 26-acre grounds, including the native vegetation on Chaparral Hill, the desert collection, the redwoods, rose garden and rare fruit orchard. On display will be the man-made ponds and streams that have been colonized by numerous plants and insects and several species of birds. Guides will also point out the many textures of winter foliage. At the conclusion of the walk, visitors will have an opportunity to ask questions over a cup of coffee or cider.
