Holyfield-Tyson II on May 3

Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson will meet on May 3 in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, according to sources in both camps. No official announcement is expected for several weeks.
Holyfield, who pulled off one of the great upsets in boxing history in November with an 11th-round TKO over Tyson, will receive $35 million for the rematch, believed to be the largest purse ever. Tyson will get something more than $20 million.
Because of this agreement, Oscar De La Hoya’s anticipated fight against Pernell Whitaker at 147 pounds, set for April 26 if both men win tuneup fights this month, will now be held April 12 at Caesars Palace.
