Drug Officers Act on Tip, Arrest Pair

An Oxnard woman and man arrested with about $3,000 worth of cocaine and methamphetamines remained in Ventura County Jail on Thursday on suspicion of possessing and intending to sell the drugs, authorities said.

Tina Dungca), 24, and Cleveland Casey were arrested Wednesday afternoon after narcotics officers with the Oxnard and Port Hueneme police departments got a tip that Dungca was dealing drugs.

Officers watched Dungca go in and out of a trailer home and believe she was dropping off drugs in a safe she kept at the residence, said Sgt. Tim Combs of the Oxnard Police Department’s narcotics squad.

She was arrested after she left the home and got into a car occupied by Casey, another man, a teenager and an infant, Combs said.

Allegedly found in Dungca’s safe and on her person were about 2 1/2 ounces of rock cocaine, a quarter of an ounce of powder cocaine, and about an eighth of an ounce of methamphetamine, along with $1,000 in cash.

Police said Casey was under the influence of a controlled substance, a violation of his probation terms, and was taken to the Oxnard Police Station. At the station, he was searched and officers found a small amount of cocaine on him, Combs said.

Both Dungca and Casey were booked into the Ventura County Jail on suspicion of possession with the intent to sell narcotics.
