Christina Mosesso recovered from a first-quarter eye injury to score 18 points and help Simi Valley High to a 58-50 victory over cross-town rival Royal in a Marmonte League game Tuesday night at Royal.

Mosesso was injured in the opening seconds of the game and didn’t return until the beginning of the second quarter with Simi Valley trailing, 15-4.

Mosesso scored the first seven points in the quarter, finished with nine in the quarter, and the Pioneers (12-6, 4-1) led, 29-22, at halftime.

Jamie Sturdivant scored 15 points and Shannon Malia added 12 for Simi Valley, which pulled into a second-place tie with the Highlanders.

Alicia Weber scored 12 points and Jessica Sanders added 11 for Royal (9-5, 4-1).

Thousand Oaks 62, Newbury Park 45--Melissa Simonetti and Jenn Detmer each scored 15 points for the Lancers (8-5, 3-2), who pulled away in the third quarter of a Marmonte League game at Thousand Oaks.

Malia Kimball scored 12 points for Newbury Park (4-10, 1-4), which trailed, 27-26, at halftime.

Channel Islands 63, Camarillo 37--Alma Perez scored 17 points and Eleanor Ecoffey added 16 for the Raiders (12-5, 5-0) at Channel Islands.

Channel Islands moved into sole possession of first place in the Marmonte League.

Agoura 41, Westlake 27--Amirra ElGamiel scored 14 points for the Chargers (7-8, 2-3) in a Marmonte League game at Agoura.

Bell-Jeff 79, Queen of Angels 38--The No. 5-ranked Guards did not allow a first-quarter basket and every player in uniform scored in Camino Real League rout at Bell-Jeff.

Santa Clara 48, Calabasas 40--Sosanna Hallahan had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Saints (8-6, 2-0) in a Frontier League game at Santa Clara.

Nordhoff 72, Malibu 34--Erin Barker scored 22 points and Nell Becker added 16 points and 11 assists for the Rangers (13-3, 2-0) in a Frontier league victory at Malibu (3-7, 0-2).

Glendale 40, Pasadena 36--Anita Hartunian made four free throws in the last minute of a Pacific League game for the Dynamiters (10-5, 1-1) at Pasadena.

Hartunian had 12 points and 16 rebounds.

Hoover 35, Arcadia 33--Karolyn Bidrussian had 22 points, 20 rebounds and 10 blocks for the Tornadoes in a Pacific League game.

St. Bonaventure 69, Carpinteria 26--Amy Rosario had 25 points and 13 steals for the Rangers (5-9, 1-0) in a Tri-Valley League opener at St. Bonaventure.
