Midwest Is Spot for Better Record

If the NBA ever decides to restructure the divisions, perhaps the Clippers should ask to move from the Pacific to the Midwest Division.

They have built their three-game winning streak against three Midwest teams, Utah, Houston and San Antonio.

The Clippers are 8-5 against Midwest opponents and 6-14 against the rest of the NBA, including a 3-6 mark against the Pacific Division.

But Coach Bill Fitch thinks the winning streak has nothing to do with Midwest teams.

“It’s timing,� he said. “If we’d have played these three games against anybody in the East, we’d have been there. It’s not who you’re playing, it’s how you’re playing.�
