VMI Board Member Quits Over Women’s Admission

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — A Virginia Military Institute board member has resigned to protest the school’s decision to admit women.
Thomas M. Moncure opposed the move when the VMI board voted 9 to 8 in September to comply with a U.S. Supreme Court order that the all-male, state-supported school admit women.
