Duck update--If they win or tie tonight, the Ducks will pull off a winning trip despite starting 0-2 against the Rangers and Devils. They are coming off an overtime victory against Ottawa on Monday and a 3-0 victory against Florida on Wednesday that marked only the second time this season the Panthers have been shut out. Goaltender Guy Hebert has a 1.62 goals-against average and a .949 save percentage over his last 15 games, including four shutouts.

Lightning update--Tampa Bay has the worst record in the NHL but has a three-game unbeaten streak after ties with Florida and Montreal and a victory against the Rangers. Former Red Wing Dino Ciccarelli leads the team with 17 goals. The tip of Shawn Burr’s left ring finger was partially severed when he was slashed by Boston’s Rob DiMaio on Dec. 19, but he has practiced wearing a special glove and is close to returning.
