Plane Clips Tree, Hits House; 2 Hurt

A small airplane clipped a tree and crashed into the second-floor bedroom of a house while trying to land at an airport near Florence, S.C., critically injuring two of the four people aboard. The Piper Cherokee hit a pine tree in the backyard of the house about three miles from Florence Regional Airport and flipped into the roof of the house. The house belongs to a Methodist minister and his wife, who were not home.
