11 Seats Open on City Commissions

Applications to fill 11 seats for city commissioners and alternates are being sought by City Hall.

Applicants must be registered voters and either live in Dana Point or be a business owner in the city. All paperwork must be returned to the city clerk’s office by Jan. 31.

The city Planning Commission has two seats open and also needs an alternate commissioner. Planning commissioners make recommendations to the City Council on land use issues, such as housing developments.

Four commissioners and one alternate are needed for the Economic Development Commission, which advises the City Council on programs to stimulate local business.

The Traffic Improvement Commission is looking for two commissioners and an alternate.

Applications are available at the city clerk’s office at 33282 Golden Lantern, Suite No. 203. Applications can also be requested over the phone by calling (714) 248-3506.
