4 Killed, 18 Hurt in Blast at Shrine
From Times Wire Reports
Two time bombs exploded at a Buddhist religious site on the outskirts of the capital, Yangon, killing four people and wounding 18, a government spokesman said. The bombs detonated as hordes of pilgrims were paying homage to a relic believed to be Buddha’s tooth. The tooth is on loan from China, which sent the relic as a goodwill gesture earlier this month. It is one of two believed to have survived since Buddha’s death 2,500 years ago. The other tooth relic is kept in Sri Lanka.
