2nd Audit of D.A. Is a Waste of Taxes
Orange Countians who read on Dec. 11 that the Board of Supervisors has decided to spend more taxpayer money on an audit of the district attorney’s office--in addition to the audit being conducted by the grand jury at a cost of $86,000--should be incensed.
Poor judgment and lack of oversight on the part of the Board of Supervisors contributed to the county’s bankruptcy. Our citizenry may not always be pleased with actions taken by the district attorney’s office, but to spend thousands of dollars more for an additional audit is nothing short of requiring us to fund Supervisors Roger R. Stanton’s and William G. Steiner’s personal vendetta against the district attorney.
This is but another display of their total lack of consideration for the people of the county and of their indiscriminate poor judgment.
