31 Graduate From Police Academy Class

The second Ventura County Police Academy class of 1996 graduated Friday, in a ceremony at the Camarillo Community Center presided over by Superior Court Judge-Elect Don Coleman.
The 31 graduates of the intensive six-month training course will head to departments in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
The Oxnard Police Department received the most graduates with nine men and women set to be sworn in as officers.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department will get eight officers from the academy, and both the Simi Valley and Santa Paula police departments will receive one officer. The remainder of the graduates will head to the Santa Barbara Police Department and San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Department.
