Teams to Be on Alert for Drunk Drivers

If you plan on drinking and driving in Thousand Oaks, be warned. The Thousand Oaks police will be out in force looking for you.
The department’s traffic bureau announced plans to have a Mobile DUI Task Force on the streets Dec. 28, with teams of two deputies each specifically looking for drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The program is in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s “National Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month.”
The department also announced a new number to call to report abandoned cars. The Abandoned Vehicle Hotline for Thousand Oaks is 371-8379.
