Teenager Held After Bolsa Avenue Shooting
A 17-year-old is in custody on suspicion of shooting a man outside a Vietnamese family restaurant early Thursday, police said.
The Westminster teenager, whose name was not released because of his age, was one of at least two people who allegedly shot Victor Huynh, 18, of Fountain Valley as he left Dong Khanh restaurant in the 10400 block of Bolsa Avenue, Police Lt. James Waller said.
A security guard stationed outside the restaurant saw the 2 a.m. shooting and followed the assailants to a residential area about 1 1/2 miles away, where he detained one of them until police arrived. Gang unit investigators are searching for others who might be involved in the shooting, Waller said.
Huynh suffered a gunshot wound to the right hip and was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center, where he was in stable condition.
