GIRLS
Jaclyn Johnson
SCHOOL: Bell-Jeff
SPORT: Basketball
YEAR: Senior
LAST SEASON: Though she averaged 15.2 points and 11.1 rebounds in her first season at Bell-Jeff, the 1995-96 season is one the Kansas-bound Johnson would like to forget. She missed 15 games with a stress fracture in her shin and those numbers, though respectable, were far below the 20.5 points and 12.5 rebounds she averaged in two seasons at Quartz Hill before transferring to Bell-Jeff.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: The 6-foot-2 Johnson announced her return in a big way, averaging 30.6 points and 17.4 rebounds in five games and leading the Guards to the Rio Mesa tournament final. Included were a 40-point, 22-rebound performance in a 76-48 victory over Royal, and 35 points and 20 rebounds in a 60-58 loss to Crescenta Valley.
