The Saddleback Community College District’s speech and debate team has won three sweepstakes trophies at a tournament sponsored by Pacific Southwest Collegiate Forensics Assn. The team placed first in the community college and novice divisions and won the Dan Miller Perpetual Sweepstakes award for the highest number of overall points. The last time the team received the Miller award was in 1988.
Fifty-five students from Saddleback College and Irvine Valley College participated in the tournament, which was held at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
