Jim Harbaugh was back practicing on Tuesday and Coach Lindy Infante said he’ll likely play Sunday when the Indianapolis Colts visit Kansas City in a game crucial to each team’s playoff hopes.

Harbaugh had a streak of 14 regular-season consecutive starts end when he tore the medial collateral ligament in his left knee on Nov. 24. He’s been the emergency quarterback the last two games.

Paul Justin, who had made only one start since being picked in the seventh round by Chicago in 1991, started the last two games as the Colts (8-6) defeated Buffalo and Philadelphia.

Justin sprained his right shoulder in the second half of Thursday night’s 37-10 victory over Philadelphia and did not practice Tuesday. Harbaugh took about half the snaps Tuesday. Kerwin Bell, who made his NFL debut when Justin was hurt and directed two touchdown drives in his first two series, took most of the other snaps.

Cornerback Ray Buchanan, who sat out the last three games because of a bruised thigh, also participated in the team’s first practice since Thursday’s game. Linebacker Stephen Grant, who dressed for Thursday’s game but did not play because of a knee injury, also practiced Tuesday.
