Red Cross Needs Help on Holiday Toy Drives
The Orange County Chapter of the American Red Cross is seeking companies and organizations to conduct holiday toy drives to benefit homeless and low-income families.
The chapter hopes to collect 10,000 new, unwrapped toys by Dec. 21 for its 1996 Holiday Project.
The children and families who will attend a party that day will be selected by principals of elementary schools in Santa Ana, Anaheim and Garden Grove, officials said.
“This is a way to make the holidays a time to remember for children who, without our help, wouldn’t have anything,†said Penny Hughes, Red Cross volunteer director.
