‘Cynicism’ Panel

Regarding the announcement of the formation of a panel to study Americans’ anger and cynicism (Nov. 14), I find myself feeling angry and cynical that fellows like William Bennett and Sen. Sam Nunn (D-Ga.), along with educators and clergy, are receiving $950,000 of Pew Charitable Trusts funds to “study the problem.”
Bennett, Nunn and the others hardly qualify as charity cases, yet they are the recipients of the funds. What else is new?
