A high school senior from Deltona was in custody, charged with spiking a teacher’s drink with the hallucinogen LSD, police said. Andrew Lewis, 17, is accused of felonious poisoning and delivering drugs within 1,000 feet of a school, said Gary Davidson, spokesman for the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators were considering charges against two other students who may have been accomplices, Davidson said. Several students saw Lewis pull out a piece of paper, tear off a square and drop it into a soft-drink bottle on teacher Linda Woodard’s desk while she was out of the classroom, police said. Woodard drank some of the soda before she could be warned. She was treated at a local hospital.
