L.A. Baptist 48, Kilpatrick 24--Ryan Kolbuss recovered a Kilpatrick fumble on the second play of the game and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown to give L.A. Baptist a kick-start in clinching its second consecutive league title.
On L.A. Baptist’s first drive, Ron Atkins scored on a 25-yard run. In the second quarter, Knight quarterback Peter Dirksen scored on a one-yard run and Phil Johnson intercepted a pass and returned it 80 yards for another L.A. Baptist touchdown.
Dirksen completed eight of 11 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown.
Kilpatrick’s record dropped to 2-7, 2-2.
