SCORECARD: COUNTY HIGHLIGHTS FROM WEEK 9

WHO ARE THOSE GUYS?
Game programs at Edison’s home game Friday indicated the Chargers were playing the Los Alamitos Lobos. Edison proceeded to build a 20-0 lead. The Los Alamitos Griffins rallied for a 21-20 victory, the second time in three seasons they have come from behind to beat the Chargers. Maybe the Edison players finally figured out who they were playing.
TRADING PLACES
The Foothill and Villa Park football teams featured a running attack whose primary back had attended previously attended the other school.
Foothill senior Franklin Haynes, who played eight games at Villa Park his sophomore year in 1994, has now played eight games for the Knights this season. Dache Dameron, a sophomore running back at Villa Park, transferred from Foothill in August.
Haynes won the head-to-head battle against Dameron Friday in Foothill’s 27-23 victory.
Haynes rushed for 254 yards and two touchdowns, intercepted a pass and broke up a last-ditch pass by Villa Park that was intended for Dameron.
Dameron finished with 71 yards in 22 carries but scored no touchdowns.
ON THE RECORD
‘That’s kind of a weird deal. No interceptions in nine games? The team is ranked No. 3 in Division III and No. 6 in Orange County? Yeah, it is kind of a weird deal.’
--Jim Hartigan, Santa Margarita coach, whose team has gone the entire season without an interception.
