In the Freedom League:
St. Margaret’s 15, Downey Calvary Chapel 12--St. Margaret’s intercepted three passes and recovered two Calvary Chapel fumbles at Saddleback College.
Justin Jameson scored on his second carry from 30-yards, dodging a couple of tackles near the end zone.
The Grizzlies (4-2-1, 1-2) made it 7-6 when Darrick Linenberger blocked a punt and was recovered in the end zone by Daniel Diaz with eight seconds left in the first half.
Dylan Gilbert’s 26-yard pass found Jameson with 6:14 left in the third quarter and Chris Cain caught a John Masters pass for the two-point conversion and a 15-6 lead.
Calvary Chapel pulled within three on Linenberger’s three-yard touchdown run with 5:29 left in the fourth quarter.
In the games’ closing moments, the Grizzlies had the ball on the Tartan 25-yard line on fourth down with a chance to win. But Robert Schnekenburger’s pass was intercepted by Masters in the end zone.
