Last week, Irvine faced the county’s second-leading rusher, Santa Margarita’s Billy Newman (24 carries for 138 yards), and this week will see its third-leading rusher, Ray Ohrel (16 touchdowns). Josiah Fredriksen (13 touchdowns, two interceptions), the county’s fourth-ranked passer, gives Newport Harbor a balanced attack. Irvine’s Al Williams is averaging 9.2 yards per carry and Jake Savona 6.7 (and 11 touchdowns), though in last week’s 17-0 loss, they combined for only 64 yards in 16 carries.
