Missing Woman, Baby Are Located in Mexico
An Anaheim woman and her 8-month-old daughter who disappeared last week were located in Mexico, where her parents live, police said Wednesday.
Relatives of Rosalinda Catalan, 22, reported her missing Oct. 20 after she took her baby to a Target store to buy diapers and never came back home. Friends and relatives went on television pleading for the public’s help in finding the woman and her child. Several people called the Police Department, but none of the tips checked out, Police Lt. Ted Labahn said.
Tuesday afternoon, Catalan called a relative, possibly her sister, and told her that she was visiting her parents south of Mexico City, Labahn said.
“She said she and her daughter are fine,†Labahn said. “Her relatives didn’t go into, at least with us, the reasons why she left in the first place.â€
