Council Weighs Raises for Two City Officials
Two top city administrators are up for pay raises.
The City Council is considering 2.5% salary increases for City Manager Allan L. Roeder and City Atty. Thomas Kathe. The adjustment would boost Roeder’s pay by $3,180 a year to $128,916 and Kathe’s by $2,844 to $115,644, said Steve Hayman, city personnel services director.
Council members said they would be issuing the increases for their top managers to reward good performance and to stay competitive.
“They are hard-working guys,†Councilwoman Sandra L. Genis said. “We’re not talking 40-hour-a-week people. We’re talking 40- to 50-hour-a-week people, and they don’t get overtime.â€
Final approval for the increases, initially approved in a closed session, is expected Monday.
Both men received 3% raises last year.
