Tustin Coach Suspended for Rule Violation

Tustin High water polo Coach Goran Grguric has been suspended for the rest of the season, a school district spokesman said Thursday.

Mark Eliot, communication specialist for Tustin Unified School District, said the suspension involved violation of a Southern Section rule against receiving pay from a booster club. Coaches can be paid only through school funds.

Grguric, a walk-on coach, was in his second season at the school. Eliot said swimming Coach Boyd Philpot has taken over for Grguric.

Athletic Director Al Rosmino declined comment.
