Rosamond Able to Get the Drop on Village Christian, 9-0
A 29-yard field goal by Mario Varela and a 14-yard touchdown run by Eric Nash allowed Rosamond High to defeat Village Christian, 9-0, Saturday night in a nonleague game at Kennedy High.
The Crusaders (3-1) had four turnovers, twice losing fumbles inside the Rosamond 20-yard line, including Brian Agnor’s bobble at the seven-yard line with under two minutes to play.
Village Christian’s Aaron Funk had 50 yards in 11 carries and Jeff Johnston completed eight of 22 passes for 91 yards, but had two passes intercepted.
The Roadrunners (3-1) got both scores in the second quarter.
