Man Fatally Shot Outside El Monte Bar
A Van Nuys man was shot to death outside a bar in El Monte, the Sheriff’s Department reported Sunday.
Jose Morfin, 29, died Saturday night after being shot several times in the upper body behind the El Rojo tavern, said Sheriff’s Deputy Kimberly Unland.
Morfin’s body was discovered by patrons outside the bar in the 12200 block of Valley Boulevard immediately after the 8:19 p.m. shooting.
No information was available about suspects or motive, Unland said. The investigation is continuing.
