Man Found Stabbed at Costa Mesa Gas Station
COSTA MESA — A man was stabbed in the chest and arm and left crawling at a gas station on Newport Boulevard late Saturday, police said.
Costa Mesa Sgt. Tom Winter said that shortly before 9 p.m., someone at the Arco station at 2021 Newport Blvd. called police and said “somebody was crawling at the gas station and there was blood.â€
The officers found the man and he was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where he was being evaluated late Saturday, Winter said. Witnesses told police that shortly after the stabbing, about 10 people sped out of the station in a van and a 1970s-era American car.
The victim’s identity was not available.
