Hesperia 17, Quartz Hill 7--Quartz Hill (1-2) closed to within three points, 10-7, late in the fourth quarter whe quarterback Justin Holtfreter lateraled to Don Simmons, who fired a 26-yard touchdown pass to Ronald Beeson.
But Hesperia (1-2) recovered the ensuing onside kick and added a touchdown in the final minute to secure the victory.
