Paying for Child Care

Regarding Elaine Dutka’s story about filmmaker Allison Anders and her problem getting a child-care credit in “Grace of My Heart,” (“Best Boy, Grip, Caterer . . . Baby-Sitter?,” Sept. 25):
I am left with some questions:
* How can I get on welfare, go to UCLA film school and get state-funded day care while I’m doing it?
* Should the credit in her earlier films have not read “child care provided by the taxpayers”?
* Now that she is a success, has she repaid the welfare and child care funds that got her there?
