Tom Murphy of St. Margaret’s High returned home Thursday after a five-day hospital stay because of a head injury he sustained in a football game Saturday.
Murphy, one of St. Margaret’s top linebackers, walked off the field during the Tartans’ 35-12 victory over Bloomington Christian at Saddleback College, but he collapsed on the sideline and was taken to the hospital.
He remained in intensive care for three days as doctors tended to his concussion.
Murphy is not expected to return this season.
