75-Year-Old Woman Dies in House Fire

Firefighters responding to a fire shortly after midnight Tuesday at a Sunland home found the body of a 75-year-old woman in a bedroom, city fire officials said.
After dousing a blaze at the home in the 10800 block of Eldora Avenue, firefighters discovered the body of Audrey Sowders, city fire spokesman Bob Collis said.
Residents in the area reportedly heard the woman calling out for help shortly before firefighters arrived, officials said.
Fire officials said they are investigating the fire, which caused an estimated $5,000 in damage.
