Mall to Restart School Fund-Raiser
Westminster Mall has reinstated a fund-raising program that has brought about $60,000 to local elementary schools since 1993.
About 35 elementary schools will benefit from the current Cash for Class program, which will run through May, officials said. Under the program, mall customers choose schools to receive money calculated from the amounts spent in stores at the mall, which is at the Golden West offramp of the San Diego Freeway.
Each school is expected to receive a grant of $250 to $2,000 through the program.
